Container Planner
Become a Container Planner at Van der Kaa
Do you enjoy planning, organizing, and adapting quickly? Do you have experience as a driver and are you ready for the next step, or have you recently completed a logistics program? At Van der Kaa, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the trade of a transportation planner on the job. Experience as a planner is not required. We value motivation, an interest in transportation and logistics, and a willingness to learn much more highly.
What you will do
- You will plan and coordinate container shipments within the Benelux region.
- You will be responsible for pre-notifying and scheduling containers at terminals and for customers.
- You’ll be in daily contact with customers, drivers, and coworkers.
- You monitor the progress of shipments and intervene when necessary.
- You resolve operational challenges and unexpected situations quickly and efficiently.
- You’ll work with a team of eight colleagues to ensure that daily planning runs as smoothly as possible.
What to bring
- You have a good command of both Dutch and English.
- You have strong communication skills, are customer-focused, and can easily coordinate between different parties.
- You maintain a clear overview, even when multiple shipments require your attention at the same time.
- You work with precision and think in terms of solutions.
- You have an interest in transportation, logistics, and planning.
- You enjoy working as part of a team and are open to furthering your professional development.

Good to Know
On-Call Duty: Within the team, the planner’s phone is assigned on a rotating schedule. This means you’ll be on call at various times to resolve any emergencies that may arise. There is a chance you’ll be called in, but this only happens when the situation requires it.
