Corporate Counsel

As a Corporate Lawyer, you are part of the Legal department, which consists of two lawyers: the Legal Manager and yourself. You fall hierarchically under the Legal Manager, who reports to the Director HR, SHEQ and Legal.
Within Legal, you work independently on files, but there is always room to spar and receive guidance from the Legal Manager on complex issues. In this way you combine your own responsibility with the security of experienced support.
What you will do
In your role as Corporate Counsel, you will be the point of contact for legal issues within the organization. Your duties will include:
Handling incidents and claims at our business units: road transport, warehousing, ocean freight, air freight and customs
Handling disputes, damage to business premises or other assets, and communicating with insurance brokers and insurance claim handlers
Advising management on the insurance portfolio
Reviewing and drafting contracts, including client contracts and collaborations
Supporting Sales, MT and Management with contract advice
You start with an induction program, in which you get to know the most important processes and files together with the current Legal Counsel and the Legal Manager. This is how you grow step by step to independence, with regular feedback and guidance.
What we ask of you
Law graduate (preferably corporate law).
Knowledge of and/or interest in commercial and transportation law is a definite plus.
Basic knowledge of transport law treaties (CMR, Hague-Visby Rules, Montreal Convention, COTIF-CIM) is an advantage.
Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts is welcome.
0-3 years work experience, but candidates with slightly more experience are also welcome.
Pragmatic, solution-oriented and communicatively strong.
Excellent command of the Dutch and English language both verbally and in writing.
